An Interview with Our Patient of the Month:

Sunny C.

November 2009

In April of this year Sunny came for an evaluation at Unruh Chiropractic & Wellness Center and was hardly able to walk. Her back and legs had her in nearly constant pain. Her once active life had changed. Her love of cooking had to be set aside because she just couldn’t stand for more than 15 or 20 minutes at a time, and walking had become nearly impossible.

How did the pain start? In 1989 Sunny had an accident but did not realize until 1992 when her leg began to give out that a disc was protruding in her back. She was prescribed physical therapy, which Sunny faithfully attended but she says it helped only a little bit. Since then Sunny has been searching for pain relief and healing.

Today, Sunny – a retired RN – will excitedly share how her treatments on the DRX9000 and chiropractic adjustments have changed her life! She can stand and walk again! She can now spend time with her first love – cooking – and enjoys spending time in the kitchen once again. She is back doing her own light housework and her own laundry and can walk through the stores shopping with much greater ease!

Sunny found Unruh Chiropractic & Wellness Center in an unusual way. A relative attending North West AR Community College (NWACC) spoke to her professor (in the medical arena) and asked him to review Sunny’s MRI and tell her what he thought of the DRX9000 – would it be helpful for her? Sunny had asked her physicians over the years if Chiropractic care would help her and had been told not to have anyone adjust her back. Yet, she kept seeing write-ups in the newspaper about non-surgical solutions to back pain and was very hopeful some non-surgical, non-drug type of therapy would help her.

After reviewing Sunny’s MRI the NWACC professor said he thought this type of therapy would be helpful for her but that she should go to see Dr. Unruh rather than the doctor listed in the ad he’d been shown. Immediately Sunny made an appointment based on his recommendation and Sunny came in for her evaluation. After Dr. Unruh discussed her exam and x-rays and presented her care plan she expectantly began treatment.

Sunny is so pleased with her results! She wishes she had come years earlier! When asked what is unique about the care she received here she shares not only about her healing treatments and adjustments but how friendly the staff and other patients are! She looks forward to coming in for her appointments and visiting with the other people – she says “we’re all like family!”

Sunny summed up her experience this way: “My life has changed so much! I’m able to do things again!!!”

Sunny, we appreciate you sharing your story with us and we salute YOU!

Congratulations Sunny!
